After 2 years of limited events due to Covid, the 27th August 2022 was the date that everyone had been waiting for, the return of the JKA Scotland National Championships. The excitement could be felt around the hall with Students travelling and attending from all over Scotland to show the hard work that they had put into their training.

The setup of the hall started on the Friday night before the event and the help was welcomed to get ready for the early start the next morning.

It was an early start on the Saturday morning with eliminations starting at 9.30am, the hall was full of excited competitors and Judges getting ready for the day ahead.

Students participated in their relevant categories as young as 5 years old, up to those that were in their 70’s. Everyone on the day displayed excellent competitive spirit, friendliness and respect to each and every competitor and judge whilst giving 100%. It is not easy to step out of your comfort zone and compete but everyone who did this on the day were winners.

JKA Scotland would like to thank all Competitors, Judges, table assistants for their hard work on the day and supporting the event.  Special thanks to the medics that were in attendance all day and Dunfermline High School for allowing us to use their venue.
